About
Liz’s work as a yoga therapist incorporates her cutting-edge knowledge of accessible and chair yoga as well as her passion for bringing yoga to those who have often never considered yoga to be for them. She herself came to yoga in her fifties as a result of being diagnosed with a rare metabolic condition, osteoporosis, and cancer, and this lived experience informs her alignment- and compassion-based approach.
Liz’s skilled use of adaptive yoga helps to foster strength, balance, flexibility, and stamina in her clients. She encourages each client to explore and adopt safe and healing practices that work for and empower them to embrace their own well-being.
Her book, Get Fit Where You Sit: A Guide to the Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga Method, published in September 2023 by Shambhala Publications, is co-authored with Lakshmi Voelker and provides an important tool for supporting clients.
Liz is available for in-person sessions in St Albans, Hertfordshire, as well as online with people anywhere in the world. She is also available to run and/or help organise sessions in care homes, including group and one-to-one sessions in Hertfordshire and Yoga Wellness Days in the UK.
Liz also runs several CPD courses which can be booked via Minded, including Basic Yoga Techniques for Health Professionals, Lakshmi Voelker Accessible Chair Yoga Teacher Training – Part 1, and Lakshmi Voelker Further Chair Yoga Skills – Part 2.
