The lovely Shaura Hall is running this workshop in just a few weeks and there are a few spaces left if you’d like to book.

“I would like people to leave the workshop with more confidence to support people with mental health sensitivities,” says Shaura, who has been a Kundalini yoga teacher for years and, having trained with Heather as a yoga therapist for mental health has been on the faculty as a lecturer and supervisor.

Shaura will be co-presenting with Heather Mason and is really excited to be building on what she shared at the Great British Kundalini Festival.

Here’s what Shaura says about the workshop:

Yogi Bhajan told us that people were going to start hitting the walls in the Aquarian Age, this prophecy has come to fruition and our people are becoming extremely stressed.

The latest published figures from the Office National Statistics show that suicides rose significantly in the UK in 2011, with 437 more people taking their own lives compared with 2010.

We are experiencing psych ache on a massive scale, and it’s up to us to find ways to support people who are suffering at the hands of their mind.

In this workshop, we will investigate the nervous system and how our experiences in life can shape our brains, and our reactions to the world around us. With a little understanding of the emotion and rational brain we’ll see how we can use breath to self regulate our system.

We will touch on the following subjects:
– Anxiety and what happens in the mind/brain/body network when we have been stressed out to such a degree that our neurology shifts.
– Depression, which is a major worry for todays’ people, with our instant gratification world, we want to be able to fix everything in a second but sometimes we have to cultivate a patient mind.

We will present further current scientific thinking and practical ways to use the findings in our teaching and personal practice.

I will deliver a Yogi Ji special kriya on the brain and you will have the chance to experience a Kundalini class with language delivered to accommodate sensitive students.

Heather Mason will be on hand for any deep technical questions about the brain and you will get a chance to feel into whether a 60hr training from us would enhance your yoga experience.

Venue, central London -TBC depending on numbers.

Investment £45 for the day- please bring veggie lunch to share.

CPD points are in application for this workshop.

Hope to see you there!
