The recent research survey conducted by PTSD UK and The Minded Institute on body-centred approaches to PTSD treatment revealed some astounding statistics. For example, of the almost 800 respondents, 66% tried body based therapies and 85.7% of those who tried such treatments found significant benefits.
We expected that body-based therapies would be seen as beneficial, but were not prepared for these highly statistically significant findings. Now we feel it is incumbent on us to determine if this is an accurate representation of the greater population of those with PTSD seeking and in treatment. Accordingly, we will be partnering with other organisations willing to share this study with patients and clinicians to get a broad lay of the land. Should we discover similar results, it becomes clear that healthcare services need to take this into consideration, and that body-based interventions could save the NHS money if they help people to better manage their symptoms.
We are reopening the survey and ask that you answer it or pass it on to others who have PTSD. We want responses from those who are interested or tried body-based approaches and those who have not, so that we have a balanced view.
Further, if you are connected with a large organisation that would be willing to survey patients and clinicians please put them in touch with us by emailing marketing@themindedinstitute.com.
A new government is upon us in the UK and this is always a good time to change the tides and implement new programmes.
Please email marketing@themindedinstitute.com if you think you can spread awareness of the survey.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
