The biggest annual industry conference for yoga therapy is The Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research (SYTAR). This year it takes place in Arizona on June 20th-22nd and Heather Mason, the founder of the Minded Institute is playing a pivotal role in the event. She is a general session speaker, addressing all participants on the topic of “Integrating Yoga Therapy and Psychotherapy”, offering a workshop on “The Minded Institute’s Approach to Yoga Therapy as a Psychotherapy: A Neurodevelopmental Chakra Model” and is honoured to be one of the three school leaders asked to chair the “Meetings of the Schools”.

At the Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research (SYTAR), the general session talk is on Integrating Yoga Therapy and Psychotherapy.

Yoga therapy is known for its holistic approach to non-communicable diseases and its capacity to help clients explore the root causes of their conditions, supporting behavioral change. As integrated interventions prove highly effective, Heather will explain tools to conduct deep psychological inquiries, providing a more comprehensive intervention to clients.
1. Explain the importance of enhanced psychological training for yoga therapists.
2. Provide a model for successful integration of yoga therapy and psychotherapy.
3. Highlight how aligning yoga therapy with psychotherapy can increase the recognition of yoga therapy, leveraging the established nature of psychotherapy.

Her workshop is on The Minded Institute’s Approach to Yoga Therapy as a Psychotherapy: A Neurodevelopmental Chakra Model. You will:
1. Learn how yoga therapy forms the foundation for a unique model of psychotherapy.
2. Analyse the value of combining the chakra and kosha models with neuropsychological insights to create comprehensive assessment and treatment tools in psychotherapy.
3. Understand the importance of expanding yoga therapists’ practice within the psychological realm for the betterment of clients and the profession.
