About
Emma is a yoga therapist who works with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions. She brings many years of experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), with particular interest in mental health, women’s health, stress & burnout and personality disorder drawing on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)–informed approaches within her therapeutic work. Alongside this, she is passionate about supporting NHS and social care staff, after running a wellbeing service For them in the context of post covid.
Her approach integrates clinical knowledge with yoga therapy, offering compassionate, evidence-informed support that recognises the whole person.
Emma is currently incorporating yoga therapy into her clinical practice, alongside her role as a Senior Practitioner and DBT Therapist within a community mental health team. She is developing therapeutic yoga classes for individuals experiencing anxiety and depression, as well as those living with complex trauma (CPTSD).
Emma also volunteers her yoga teaching at a festival each year, with proceeds supporting the provision of recording studio sessions for clients within her service. In addition, she offers yoga sessions to support staff wellbeing, recognising the pressures faced by NHS professionals.
Yoga has been a personal lifeline for Emma throughout her own busy NHS career, shaping her belief in movement, breath, and mindfulness as essential tools for resilience and care.
Outside of her professional life, Emma lives on a narrow boat with her husband and dogs, a way of life she feels keeps her grounded and connected. She loves travel, camping, walking in nature, and swimming in the sea. More recently, she has fallen in love with Kundalini yoga and weaving,
