About
Sam is a senior clinical psychologist and yoga therapist specialising in using yoga therapy to help people with mental health issues. She studied clinical psychology at University College of London in 2005. Then, inspired by her own experience of the benefits of yoga to mental wellbeing and a growing awareness of the inextricable link between mind and body, she completed her initial teacher training with Yogi Vishvektu at the Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh (India) at the beginning of 2010. She subsequently trained as Yoga Therapist for Mental Health in 2010 with The Minded Institute.
Sam spent almost a decade specialising in working with children and adolescents with Eating Disorders at the Maudsley Hospital, delivering both clinical psychology and yoga therapy. She now works privately seeing yoga therapy clients and integrating yoga therapy into her work as a clinical psychologist.
Sam has lectured on the The Minded Institute professional training since 2012 and runs CPDs in integrating yoga therapy into psychotherapy. Her lecturing focuses on clinical skills, body awareness and yoga therapy for eating disorders. She is a lead supervisor, training new supervisors joining the team and overseeing students’ progression through developmental reviews. She also assists psychologists on the course as to how to integrate yoga into their clinical work.
