About

Deidre (Dee) Opp is a senior Integrative Yoga Psychotherapist, C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, clinical supervisor, educator, and faculty member whose work integrates psychotherapy, neuroscience, contemplative practice influenced by both Yogic and Buddhist teachings, and embodied somatic experiences to advance the fields of Yoga Therapy and Integrative Psychotherapy.

Originally trained as a board-certified psychiatric clinical pharmacist in the United States, Dee brings a rare integration of medical science, depth psychology, and body-based psychotherapy to her work. Her therapeutic approach honors both the intelligence of the nervous system and the innate wisdom of the body, supporting clients in moving beyond symptom management towards lasting integration and meaningful, long-lasting change.

Alongside her work as a psychotherapist and yoga therapist, Dee serves as Supervision Manager for Minded, where she supports the education, supervision, and professional development of Integrative Yoga Psychotherapists and Yoga Therapists. She provides individual and group clinical supervision, mentors practitioners working towards C-IAYT certification, and is passionate about nurturing reflective, ethical, and embodied therapists. With over eleven years’ experience delivering yoga therapy within UK prisons, Dee has worked extensively with complex trauma, neurodivergence, chronic health conditions, grief, life transitions, and psychological resilience.

Her advanced clinical approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed and other parts-oriented approaches, Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, Brainspotting, Flash Technique, Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing-informed, and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR). She is also certified in perinatal mental health and yoga therapy for children and adolescents. Dee continues to deepen her understanding of systemic and transgenerational healing through advanced training in Family Constellations, reflecting her commitment to lifelong professional development and integrative clinical practice.

As a faculty member and lecturer, Dee teaches on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the Integration of Dreams in Psychotherapy, and the integration of Sensory and Somatics in Psychotherapy. Her teaching is grounded in contemporary neuroscience while remaining deeply experiential, inviting practitioners to think critically, work relationally, and trust the intelligence of embodied experience.

Her work is deeply informed by interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, Jungian psychology, dreamwork, mindfulness, contemplative traditions, and the healing potential of symbolic and imaginal processes. She is developing an original clinical and educational framework -The Third Door- exploring the somatic bridge; the embodied threshold that allows us to move beyond the familiar pull of polarity and into the creative possibilities of what has not yet emerged. This work explores how presence with uncertainty becomes a gateway to integration, insight, and transformation.

Dee offers personal and group therapy, supervision, and professional training online from her private studio near London, as well as through nature-based sessions on the River Thames. She loves the water and swims and paddleboards year-round. Across all settings, her intention is to create a relational space where people feel deeply seen, safely challenged, and gently supported as they reconnect with their own capacity for healing and transformation.

Her guiding philosophy is to help people awaken at their own pace, cultivating greater presence, integration, and compassion in both their inner and outer lives.
