About
Ayala Homossany is a Certified Yoga Therapist, C-IAYT, author, lecturer, supervisor and teacher trainer, working with adults, young adults, teens and children. Her particular areas of interest include stress management, burnout, ADHD, trauma, anxiety and depression.
Ayala describes her work as “designing creative ways back into the body”. Her approach brings together yoga therapy, somatic and developmental movement, breath, rest, imagery, mindfulness and creative exploration. Sessions are collaborative and individually shaped, with particular attention to choice, pacing and curiosity, supporting the development of safety, agency, connection and vitality.
Her therapeutic approach has been deeply shaped by more than two decades of working with children and young people. This experience taught her to pay attention to what is communicated before and beyond words, through movement, sensation, rhythm, imagination, behaviour and relationship. She brings this developmental sensitivity to her work across the lifespan, including with adults who may understand what they are experiencing intellectually, yet continue to feel overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, disconnected or caught in patterns that can be difficult to reach through words alone.
With roots in classical ballet and a background in Visual Communication Design, movement and creativity have been threads throughout Ayala’s life and professional work. She has been teaching yoga since 2003, with more than two decades of experience across therapeutic, educational and community settings.
Ayala is co-author of Yoga Therapy for Complex Trauma: Working with Child, Adolescent, and Adult Clients. She is also the creator and lead trainer of Empowering Children through Yoga & Creativity, creator of the award winning Enchanted Wonders A–Z Yoga Cards, and co-creator of Enchanted Rest, Yoga Nidra for Children, an on-demand course bringing a trauma sensitive and creative approach to Yoga Nidra for children.
She is a lecturer and supervisor at The Minded Institute and will begin its Professional Diploma in Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy in September 2026.
Ayala offers individual yoga therapy for adults, young adults, teens and children, alongside therapeutic yoga groups for adults and young adults.
Outside her professional work, Ayala enjoys dancing, swimming and gardening, finding inspiration in movement, nature and everyday creativity, as well as spending time with her family.
