About
Naomi Watson is an Edinburgh-based Yoga Therapist. At the heart of her work is a deep belief in yoga’s therapeutic potential: that when thoughtfully adapted to the individual, it can offer meaningful support through periods of pain, distress and change.
Naomi first trained as a yoga teacher in India, where she has family roots, and has taught since 2013. Her growing interest in the relationship between body and mind led her to qualify as a Yoga Therapist with The Minded Institute, where she is now furthering her training in Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy.
Naomi is particularly interested in supporting people through anxiety, stress and low mood, sleep difficulties, chronic pain and tension, and challenging periods of change. She is fascinated by the relationship between our emotional lives, nervous system and physical experience, and how difficult experiences can become reflected in patterns of breath, movement and bodily holding.
Grounded in both the traditions of yoga and evidence-informed clinical practice, her work aims to alleviate suffering while helping people develop a more compassionate and trusting relationship with themselves.
Her approach is warm, collaborative and practical, drawing from movement, breathwork, somatic awareness, meditation, restorative practices and yoga philosophy. Rather than prescribing a fixed practice, Naomi works with each person to develop resources that respond to their individual needs and can meaningfully support everyday life.
A longstanding commitment to making yoga more accessible has also shaped her work. Alongside training in community and refugee yoga, she developed and delivered a yoga project within a Scottish prison, funded by the University of St Andrews.
Today, she combines her private Yoga Therapy practice with running Hotpod Yoga Edinburgh, where she continues to teach and work within a diverse yoga community.
Naomi offers in-person Yoga Therapy in Edinburgh and online sessions across the UK and internationally.
