About
Gill has been practising yoga since 2012, and fell in love with its therapeutic effects during a very challenging time in her life where she experienced various mental health afflictions including anxiety, panic attacks and ‘a breakdown’.
The loss of her mother, lead her to re-examine her life, work and lifestyle and train as a yoga teacher in India in 2017. She then created her company Yoga Annie, as a tribute to her beautifully kind mother Annie, who always found the good in others.
Gill has been a carer three times in her life, supporting her mother and brother during Cancer, as well as caring for them both at end-of-life. Gill is also the primary Carer for her father who has Alzheimer’s (dementia). She therefore believes wholeheartedly that yoga therapy should be a vital component of care, including self-care offered to Carers.
Trauma has had a big impact on her own health and well-being, as well as witnessing its effects on her family, and therefore trauma is an area of deep interest both personally and professionally.
More recently, Gill has joined The Minded Institute’s Supervision team for the May 2024 intake of the 600 hour Yoga Therapy diploma programme.
