Veena is a Yoga Therapist for Mental Health specialising in helping people manage symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. She is also a 500hr RYT, researcher and lecturer, and has been a yoga therapy supervisor since 2011. Veena also delivers cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness interventions within the Harrow IAPT service, Central and North West London NHS Trust, where she works as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.
Veena practices yoga therapy privately as well as teaching the Yoga Therapy for the Mind 8-week course at MoreYoga and previously at the School of Life and Triyoga. Veena’s particular areas of interests are psychology and neuroscience. With academic experience in both areas – including formal study at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London and UCL – Veena continues to remain current within both fields. She combines her academic and clinical experience in stress and its effects on health, with her experience and knowledge of yoga and mindfulness and how they can benefit mental health.
